"message": "setup-freebsd.sh: install what building Bazel needs (#2836)\n\nReworked to the script alone, following the comment above: the platform\nentry is gone, and what is left is a fix to a file already in the\nrepository.\n\nbuildkite/setup-freebsd.sh has been here since 2017 and no platform\nrefers to it, so nothing has run it in that time. It installs bazel,\ngit,\nwget and zip. Building Bazel from source also needs bash, which is not\nin\nthe FreeBSD base system and which every bootstrap script names in its\nshebang; a JDK; and python3, since rules_python ships no CPython for\nFreeBSD and the build falls back to the system interpreter. This adds\nthe\nthree.\n\nChecked on a stock FreeBSD 15.1 (Vultr\u0027s image): before the script bash,\njavac and bazel are absent; after it, all three are on the path.\n\nOne thing this does not cover, because it is not this repository\u0027s: with\nJAVA_HOME unset, Bazel\u0027s own buildenv.sh defaults to\n/usr/local/openjdk11\non FreeBSD, which is exactly what the bazel package installs, and that\nis\ntoo old to build Bazel. That is a change for bazelbuild/bazel,\nbazelbuild/bazel#31051.",
