Do not follow symlinks in readdir calls, but queue separate symlink-resolution jobs instead. The problem is that most FileSystem implementations use a single thread to resolve all symlinks sequentially. If the file system is networked and a single directory has lots of symlinks, this can cause substantial delays. RELNOTES: None. PiperOrigin-RevId: 233661974
