Clean some shell-style problems in `unittest.bash`. Clean some of the shell-style issues in `unittest.bash` like quoting variables and using preferred conditionals (e.g. `[[...]]` instead of `[...]`). Brace delimit variables names in strings where it aids readability. Proper quoting of variables allows the unit test framework to work correctly with custom `IFS` values which are not spaces, add a test exercising that. PiperOrigin-RevId: 421078763
